Joe Satriani was born in July 15, 1956 in Westbury, New York. He is an Italian American multi-instrumentist or an instrumental rock guitarist. He worked as a guitar instructor, prodocer, mesician, and songwriter. He also performed with many famous guitarist such as Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Yngnie Malmsteen, Brian May, including G3. He is heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ritchie Blackmore. Since 1988, he has been using his own singnature guitar, " The Ibanez JS Series." as well as his singnature in amplifier, the Peavey JSX, signature VOX amPlug headphone amp, and signature VOX pedals The "Satchurator" distortion pedal, The "Time Machine" delay pedal, The "Big Bad Wah" wah pedal and The "Ice 9" overdrive pedal.
In 1996, Satriani founded the G3, a concert tour intended to feature a power trio consisting of three instrumanetal rock guitarists. The original lineup featured Satriani, Vai, and Eric Johnson. The G3(tour) has continued periodically since its inaugural version, where Satriani is the only permanent member, featuring differing second and third members.
